Kids E.N.T. Awareness Month - Ear infections, nosebleeds, allergies and tonsillitis are common childhood ear, nose and throat disorders affecting the nation’s 79 million children. They also are at risk for sinusitis, sleep apnea, hoarseness, hearing loss, facial deformities and injuries. Failure to properly treat these disorders can lead to severe behavioral and developmental problems, as well as further medical complications in adulthood.
Secondhand smoke is a known cause for childhood middle ear infections and for some allergic reactions, including asthma, in children.
