Smokebusters come to Kirksville

KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Some much younger students were on the campus of Truman State University Tuesday. Select students from across Northeast Missouri got a day off from classes to train with area media experts for their Smokebusters campaigns.
The training allowed students to learn how to use their advocacy skills to promote tobacco-free environments.

KTVO's C.E. Huffman discussed tips for using television to advocate for a smoke-free society. Students learned how to prepare for interviews and presented their final projects. Students say being part of Smokebusters is a worth-while experience and the day off from classes doesn't hurt.
